Materials you’ll need
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1:
To begin, collect all your supplies, as well as the free printables. Then make sure to select designs that resonate with your patriotic home decor theme. Or, just use them all as I did!
- Make sure to print the images on 80 lb cardstock for the very best results.
- Then cut them out using scissors, a rotary cutter, or your guillotine paper cutter.
Step 2:
Cut the twine and Prepare the Flags (Pennants or Cards).
- Measure and cut the twine according to the desired length of your garland. But don’t forget to leave some extra length on each end for hanging.
- Then, you can attach the cards to the twine with a thin layer of glue or adhesive tape. But I like to use mini clothespins.
- Also, space them evenly along the string, leaving some room between each card or flag.
Step 3:
Add Embellishments and Personal Touches
Now it’s time to let your creativity shine!
At this point, feel free to add extra embellishments to your garland. For example, you could tie ribbon into small bows at the top points of the flags. Also, attach mini fabric flags to the string using clothespins or clips.
But don’t be afraid to experiment and customize the garland to fit your style and preferences.
I chose to cut my cards up into two separate designs: a garland pennant design as well as a flag design.
This DIY Vintage Free Printable 4th of July Garland is a fun project that requires little time, but the results are sure to impress.
Whether you’re hosting a Fourth of July party, celebrating with friends and family, or simply adding a touch of patriotism to your home decor, this garland is a versatile and cost-effective solution.
