Sometimes simply a new coat of paint is enough to refresh the room. And it doesn’t have to be a wall either. In my hallway refresh I painted a half wall of shiplap a dark color and all of the bedroom doors Iron Ore by Sherwin Williams. It made a drastic change.

I have been painstakingly replacing all the builder-grade trim in my home using common lumber made to look pretty. All 1x4s were purchased at my favorite, Home Depot. The process takes more time, but the outcome is solid wood charm.
