Let’s Join Peter Rabbit and his Friends for a Colorful Adventure

One of the favorite features of these coloring pages is that they are designed to be printed on watercolor paper, which is perfect for those who want to use watercolor paints.

The extra details on each page capture the essence of the story and add a new level of fun to the activity. The illustrations showcase the beauty of the natural world and the adventures of pet rabbits in a way that is both charming and educational.

Proper Printing to Watercolor

In order to use watercolor paints you will need to use thicker paper. Ideally a watercolor paper, but I used 80 lb cardstock for mine because that’s what I had on hand.

I like to buy loose-leaf watercolor paper for this exact purpose, however. My printer can handle thicker paper so I don’t need to hand-feed it, test yours to see. And if you don’t have a printer you can have these printed at your local UPS store or another print shop on cardstock!

Step Two – Cut and Paint

It really is that simple. Watercoloring is probably one of the most simple paints to work with and the point is kind of messy so imperfections work well!

Just wet your brush and get some paint and start your piece of art.

You can also let it dry and come back in with darker colors on top, or other colors on top. A fun variation might be to use watercolor pencils and then come in and blend.

As you start coloring these pages, take some time to appreciate the work of the natural scientist, Helen Beatrix Potter, who not only wrote children’s books but also created beautiful illustrations of animals and nature. Her legacy continues to inspire generations of readers and artists alike.

Peter Rabbit Coloring Pages: Not Just for Watercolors

Though I think they’re fantastic for watercolor, these Peter Rabbit Watercolor pages are also wonderful for use with alcohol markers, crayons, colored pencils, or acrylic paints!

Take the opportunity to learn new art mediums and add a few to the list for later.

  1. These images are so precious! I can’t wait to print them out, cut them out, and hand them out to the kids (and myself, if I’m being honest) to color and hang up around the house! Thanks so much for these beautiful coloring pages!
