A little ABOUT ME
I'm a small town girl born and raised Kaneohe, Hawaii originally, but moved to a smaller town in Missouri when I was 16 with my parents.
I'm the youngest baby of my parents 4 children, I have one brother and three sisters. I Homeschooled all the way from K through graduation.
I'm a DIY enthusiast. Ever since I was a child I was obsessed with crafting and creating. As I grew my interests only widened from simple paper or hand sewn crafts to wood burning designs & painting furniture. Finally when we purchased our home I gave myself permission to purchase and ultimately learn to harness power tools as a skill, which was both exciting and frightening for me.
I have a deep passion for learning & passing down hand made skills as a heritage. Am I the only one who feels a deep connection to their ancestors when I learn skills they would have used regularly in their daily lives? I wish there was more of this in the culture I grew up in, so it's my sworn duty to create that for my kids.
I am a Homeschool Educator to my 5 kids and my husband, Eric, is a Special Needs Highschool Teacher. So learning is kind of a lifestyle for us, we're always learning new things together.
You can also follow along with me on Instagram here, I post frequently about projects and daily life.
A few FUN FACTS ABOUT ME
My first love in life was piano. It was my first love and obsession. I still play piano though admittedly it is harder to find the time & quiet concentration with 5 kids in the household!
I love Nature. Pretty much everything about it. I'm happy to share this passion with my kids in hiking, swimming, seasonal pets (raising caterpillars & tadpoles), and pretty much every form of nature study. Currently we have 3 cats named Lynx, Ginger, & Moon, and a Ball Python named Ren.
When I was 19 I spent 2 weeks on an amazing missions trip 14 hours into the Sierra Madre Mountains with my youth group. We painted churches, fed the families of the sick in the local hospital there, and played with children. I came back with an entirely different view of life and the world.
